Kakiriko Village in Ocarina of Time has always been a place of peacefulness; it's that little piece of solace in a Hyrule filled with conflict and political struggles between the different races trying to rebuild from the Hyrulean Civil War. Though you look deeper into the village, you see a darker more sinister side.
First off there is the Graveyard, then you have the Shadow Temple, and finally the Bottom of the Well. I want to focus on the Bottom of the Well though. A place filled with mystery and creatures of the very things dwelling deep within your nightmares. We can first off start by talking about what caused this? This quote sticks out to me:
At some point, Impa, had sealed this dark creature [Bongo Bongo] at the depths of the Well, maybe some time ago due to the sheer deterioration of the Well itself - that couldn't have happened over night. My own theory for the Well, it's inhabitants, and Bongo Bongo, is that it was the formation of dwelling undead spirits from the Graveyard. Possibly hundreds of hundreds year old spirits haunting the depths of Kakiriko - some possibly being evil in their time living.
This brings me onto my next point, the crazy villagers. Kakiroko's residents all seem normal at first sight, but let's look deeper. I'll out this on a spoiler to avoid clutter:
Given the odd physical and mental health of some of Kakiriko's residents, I think this is possibly due to the fact that they are getting their water source from a cursed Well. I mean, after all, the water beneath the well is actually poisonous, so it's highly likely that this water is probably affecting the local inhabitants making them like this.
Just a nice fun theory I was thinking of recently, anyway what are your guy's thoughts on this?

Sheik: "Link.... A terrible thing has happened! The evil shadow spirit has been released! Impa, the leader of Kakariko Village, had sealed the evil shadow spirit in the bottom of the well.... But the force of the evil spirit got so strong, the seal of the well broke, and it escaped into the world!!"

Dampe is one of the calmest, and at the same time, creepiest figures in the game. His face looks heavily deformed and he just walks around a Graveyard all day.
Graveyard Boy is a small child (probably around 6-8) who is obsessed with ghosts and he spends his spare time playing around in th Graveyard. Weird right?
Cucco Lady or Anju, isn't exactly creepy or any of the sort, but she's a Cucco raiser/farmer who is actually allergic to Cuccos. That's kind of crazy and deluded.
Granny is the owner of a a creepy potion shop first of all, but just look at her appearance and tell me that isn't in any weird.
Guru-Guro is a one man troupe who basically spends every living moment playing his music in the Windmill hoping something will happen - it's borderline insane. Not to mention he also seems to have an anger problem clearly displayed when Link plays the Song of Storms and in the ending credits
Grog is the final resident on the list and possibly the oddest. Appearance wise he just looks completely messed up. He's incredibly pale and probably anorexic to some degree - he look severely unhealthy. Not to mention he spends his time wallowing in self pity under a tree and constantly calls people "disgusting" - even his own family.
