I'm New to This Darksiders Thing.

I'm considering getting Darksiders II for Wii U when it comes out. But should I get Darksiders 1 first?

If you want to understand the combat and story better, yes.

I would. It will make the story in Darksiders 2 more interesting. Darksiders 1 is a harder game then 2, but 2 is funner, imo. Darksiders is about 16 hours long, while Darksiders 2 is 25. Darksiders is pretty linear, while Darksiders 2 is more open, and has tons of sidequests. Darksiders is a great game, but Darksiders 2 easily tops it. Like I said, I would still buy Darksiders, as it would really help the story, and makes the second game make more sense. Still, you will be able to understand the story in Darksiders 2 well, even if you haven't played the original. Your call.
