I add a touch of sugar to my Cornbread when I make it. I've been told that by doing so I'm not actually eating Cornbread, I'm eating Corncake. Is this true?
It's a legit question. I'm not spamming, if that's what you're implying.stop posting.
This is my thought too. But apparently it is a belief, especially here in the southern US, that adding any sugar to Cornbread makes it a cake.Depends on how you define “cake”. I tend to define cake as having a different topping on it like frosting or whipped cream. So put some frosting on that bad boy and for sure you have corn cake. But lots of normal bread has sugar in it too so I’d still call it bread until it’s been further transformed.
I welcome any argument to the contrary, change my mind
