Didn't Kaepora Gaebora mention something in Snowhead just before you get the Lens of Truth? I think he said something like "This land will become so cold that no living thing can survive." I'm speculating, but this quote seems like it's a reference to global warming's consequences, just with one word changed...

Well I thought he just meant the northern part of Termina (mountain village, goron village, etc.).
