Fall of Man is a sci-fi story detailing, well, the fall of humanity. A sign up shall become available soon, and chapters shall be posted on a regular basis. FOR REAL THIS TIME. Apologies for the first chapter. I'm terrible at openings.. I'll elaborate on things later as the story unfolds. So, enjoy!~

WARNING: Contains death and violence. Strictly PG 13

Fall of Man
"Hello. My name is Mike Kalsinsto. I am, or rather, used to be, the leader of the NASA space program. Something that you may or may not have heard of. I'm here to tell you the story of humanity. The great and powerful race that fell, not because of the invaders that challenged us,but because of our own ignorance and greed and cowardness in the face of danger".

"Y' know. Life has been pretty good these last few years. Everything seemed to be working out for the better. The economic depression had been eliminated, science had made major medical breakthroughs, curing such things as brain tumors, AIDs and other diseases, and the government had finally agreed to clean up the environment. We saved species from extinction, saved people from starvation, and even progressed our reach into the unknown void of space. But, recently, things have changed. And as you may know- not all change is good..."

Chapter 1

"It was the winter of '18. 2018 that is. And for months, I and the rest of the team had been keeping an eye on a specific object heading towards the earth. The object was huge, and if it ever hit, it would have devastating consequences. Such that life as we know it would cease to exist. But about a month or two ago, the object stopped. Froze in place and sat stationary.
The only thing was, many smaller objects shot out of it. Though, they were too small to be a threat, or so we thought. We monitored these objects until the day they finally entered our atmosphere. There wasn't much reason after this. The day?- November 1st".
---------------------------------

The city of New York had always been popular. The city was famous for the lights, the sounds, the people, even the congestion. The skyline of New York was so often clouded by the lights and smog, it would be very unlikely to be able to catch a glimpse of a speeding object, but tonight was different. For some reason, the sky was clearer than usual, giving a perfect view of the stars, and the first few of the many objects heading for earth. The bright blue tails of the objects tore through the night sky at a rapid pace, and came closer and closer, breaking through the atmosphere and oddly resisting the immense heat. The trio that had broken through here twisted and turned in a spiral like motion. The team at NASA became more and more panicked. It was too late for an evacuation or a warning. The objects smashed through a passenger plane, forcing it to erupt in flames and spiral downwards into a populated street, it too engulfed by the inferno.

The outermost object split from the rest and speed ahead. It was clear now that these were no mere meteorites, but ships. The other two ships kept close. The one that had sped ahead seemed to be a scout, and shot directly through a building, creating a gap for the other two. The trail of destruction had a purpose, though the plane was an accident. The ships quickly found a place to land, or rather to make a dramatic entrance, though they had already gained the people's attention with the explosions and with their striking blue tails.

The ships began to slow, and formed into a triangular formation before nosediving straight into the center of a busy street, causing the people to run in terror as they crashed one by one, causing no fatalities, only shock and minor injuries. The first two ships to dive caused a massive cloud of dust to scatter into the air, almost shrouding the third, which was much different than the others. This one was more fortified, and was lined with strange symbols. This ship applied a violent boost before driving itself in between the other two, embedding itself deep in the ground.

When the dust had settled and the public had let their curiosity get the better of them, they entered the unsecured street and approached the trio of objects, unaware of what lay within, and oblivious to their real purpose.

Wow! This is really good so far Ark! You did a very good job detailing it, and the scene was described well so that I could picture it in my head. This story definitely is going somewhere. I can't wait to see how it develops. Good job Ark! :D

"Reports of these aptly named 'meteors' began to shoot up all over the planet. We knew now that through their display of self awareness, they were ships, though to the media, we kept that information strictly private. Who knows what might have happened if we informed them? Though, I don't think it would have mattered. The public quickly found out anyway. As soon as we had confirmed touch down, we rushed to the scene and attempted to disperse the crowd, though our attempts were meaningless as the public refused to move. How stubborn and ignorant they were..."

Chapter 2

The trio of ships had alerted the public's attention, and had already drawn a large crowd to the crash site. The two primary ships stood beside the crater made by the third, seemingly protecting it. Whispers of shock and excitement shot through the area, and a single person stepped forward towards one of the outer ships. Immediatley before he tried to touch it, military vans burst into the area, tearing halfway through the crowd and busting out, all guns blazing. Two NASA vans followed, and scientists were poised and ready with their gear.

"Step aside citizens! This area is now under the control of the US Military" Screamed an officer through a megaphone

The citizens seemed unphased, and continued to look on in awe at the objects in front of them, remarking at the feeling of cold that radiated from them.

"I said step aside! Don't make us use force. You will leave the area at once!" he repeated with a harsher tone.

The crowd began to disperse a little, but a group stood solid, protesting that they were only looking and doing no harm. The officer raised his arm, and signalled for the soldiers to be ready to fire.

"This is your last warning!" he roared, causing the megaphone to screech.

A single citizen stepped forward and reached out to touch the ship. He placed his hand upon it's freezing body, and recoiled in shock as it zapped him with an odd form of static electricity. The solid shape of his handprint was left, and the ship began to shake a little.

"FIRE" the officer screamed, causing the soldiers to shoot wildly into the air, terrifying the citizens and causing them to run in fear. The street was soon clear, except for the one who had stepped forward. He lay, ignoring the bullets and staring at the now wildly shaking ship. Cracks began to form in the earth as it became more and more violent. The one on the opposite side seemed to be doing the same. By this time, the soldiers had stopped firing, and were now looking on in awe also, despite the commander's orders to escort the citizen away. They stepped forward slightly, and the scientists in the NASA van were hiding away so as not to create a fuss, but to still be close enough to watch.

The officer grabbed one of his soldier's weapons and grabbed the citizen, shouting at him for not complying and accusing him of many, almost criminal offences. He began to drag him away, but as he did, the ships exploded open, and out of the two shot two beings, diving high into the air with a loud screech. The officer dropped the weapon and the citizen in fear as the two beings crashed back down to the earth, their massive wings folding inwards as they did.

The beings, if they can be called that, were quite human in appearence. Two eyes, two arms, two legs, even clothing. The only differences were that they seemed to be made of stone, the giant wings and halo like objects circling above their heads. The beings were, by human definition, angels.

The stone that they seemed to be made of was seemingly only cosmetic, as they had full flexibility and movement, just like a human would. Though, their flexible stone skin was as hard as steel. Their clothes and wings also seemed to be made of this material. The only thing on them that was very different were their eyes. One's pair was blue, the other's pair was green. No pupils or otherwise were present in the sockets, only the greenish cloudy eyes, staring into nothingness. They seemed quite robotic. Almost like LEDs.

The angels turned in simultaneous order and stared at the officer, cowering on the floor.

"P-p-please! Don't hurt me!" he stuttered

The angels narrowed their eyes and raised out their arms. They leaped forward and grabbed the officer, lifting him by his throat into the air. A powerful blue bolt ran up both of their arms, causing the officer to scream in pain before he let out one final blood curdling roar and was reduced to dust.

The citizen bolted backwards in shock, and gained the attention of the angels. The look of anger vanished from their eyes, and the angel with the green eyes knelt before him, stretching out a hand.

"Human. Are you well? We have disposed of the wrong-doer. Come now, it is safe" it spoke softly. "My name is Elizabeth. My partner here is Lilith"

The citizen, though shivering in fear, grabbed Elizabeth's stony hand and was helped to his feet.

"T-t-thank you" he stuttered before running off, pushing through the military and diving around the NASA vans.

The scientists within the NASA vans were astounded, as were the soldiers. Though these angels had destroyed one of their own, they seemed to mean no harm, though one scientist felt differently, and refrained from looking at the creatures.

"Mike! Mike! Come look at this! This is amazing!" laughed an excited intern, climbing out of the van.

"I think i'll pass" Mike grunted, fiddling around with some machinery.

"But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity! Come on!"

"I said i'm fine" he snapped, closing the door and returning to his work. "Damn interns..."
