Breath of the Wild E3 Bill Trinen interview

In one of the interviews with Bill Trinen, he states that when you get off the plateau, you'll meet one of the first npc's and given a choice on what u wanna do next such as explore more shrines, find out more information about your past, main story, etc. My concern is that I'm not sure what he means by choice, as if it's like a list options to choose that you have to narrow down to one or if I'm looking too much into it and he just means do whatever u want.

Well Bill Trinen WAS Fired By Reggie and replaced by a kid who can do his job loads better. In fact, while he was Reggie's replacement he proposed that nintendo make a game where you can do anything. Thus, Breathe of the Wild was born.

No bur seriously I'm pretty sure it means you can go where ever you want. Not choose what to do next kind of thing.
