I started watching it this year (starting with 9th Doctor) because a friend made me. I disliked it the first 5 episodes in...I just thought the concept of terribly animated aliens running around the streets and zapping citizens with lasers was really lame...but episode 6 (the Dalek one?) was pretty well written, and from there I started liking it. By the end of the 9th Doctor's run I was pretty attached to the Doctor and Rose, and no matter how much they stress how Tennant is "the same doctor with a different face," I can't help but miss Eccleson (he doesn't seem to get as much love from the fandom D
. I'm around episode 4 of series 2, and I think it's a good show with good writing, good morals, and righteous/humble main characters. I also really like what misskitten said about how flexible the genre is. Sometimes I feel like the animation is low-budget and lo-q compared to the writing, but there's a certain charm about that as well
