As In do have all the hearts from heart pieces when you enter hero mode?

No, you start fresh. The only thing you keep in Hero is all of your collections minus the Purple stuff (good bye Gratitude Crystals 
) By collections, I mean stuff like bugs for upgrading and the like. Also, you keep the powered up Skyward Strike.
