I could never get into this game due to how awful the controls & story were. The only good things I liked about it are the humor & Toon Link himself due to how cute & funny he is. Also, should I even mention how terrible Tetra's characterization was?

I found this article when looking for Phantom Hourglass stuff to put in my own post online. Interestingly enough, PH was my first Zelda as well and I agree that it gets perhaps more hate than it deserves. Its certainly not my favourite Zelda, but I have many fond memories from it and it will always have a special place in my heart. I also actually really loved the controls in this game - they felt smooth, responsive, and intuitive, but to quote you - That's just my opinion.

The problem I have with Phantom Hourglass is that I played Spirit Tracks first, and that game is in many ways a better Phantom Hourglass.
