It was supposed to be a fun and exciting night at the movies during the midnight showing of the Dark Knight Rises where dozens of people eagerly awaited the highly anticipated Batman movie. However, shortly after the movie began with the loud, booming surround sound, a man, likely in his mid-twenties, barges in through the exit, releases tear gas into the room, and proceeds to fire bullets at the confused viewers. After the crowd realizes the urgency of the situation, they begin to scatter like roaches out of the theater room. Many are soon rushed to the hospital, while others are so shocked and horrified that all they can do is just mourn and call loved ones. This has truly been a grim event in the world of cinema.
