You walk around in 4 cardinal directions stabbing things. That's not difficult in the least. The controls are perfect.my daughter can do it and so could millions of kids in the 80s and 90s.
All I'm saying is that all Zelda games at their most basic (except for the motion control and stylus titles) feature a dpad, which is on every Nintendo controller, a button permanently assigned to his sword and a button for other items. If you have problems moving TLoZ Link, then you have difficulty with every other classically controlled Zelda title.
