  • No, the show started in 1963 with William Hartnell as the First Doctor. When he left the show in 1966 they decided to change the show and made the Doctor regenerate. This means the doctor is about to die but doesn't die but turned into another man. This is when another actor takes over as the Doctor because of the former actor leaving the show. In totally we have 11 regenerations now. This meand we have the eleventh actor playing the Doctor. And everytime an actor takes over the count is going up. So hartnell was the first one and in 1996 we had the last Doctor Who with the 8th actor (the 8th Doctor). In 2005 the BBC restarted the show and continued with the 9th Doctor played by Christopher Eclestone. He left after one season and then the Doctor had to regenerate again and the Tenth was born. He played from 2005 till 2008 and then he only did the specials and left. In 2010 the show continued with the eleventh actor Matt Smith who is now the Eleventh Doctor for almost 3 seasons. A bit confusing  The Doctor is still the same man but he never dies. He regenerates and gets another face and looks
That is David Tennant. In my siggy he is the Tenth Doctor in Dr Who and in my avy he is Peter Vincent the Vampire Slayer in Fright Night
