Zelda Warfare: Slippin’ Around at Snowpeak
Posted on February 03 2021 by Emi Curtis
Mases and Gooey are back with yet another Twilight Princess Zelda Warfare! After their snowboarding, mountain climbing expedition last episode in Peak Province, the two have arrived at the infamous Snowpeak Ruins for a classic Zelda Warfare challenge.
Simply put, the two must complete the dungeon using only Bomb Arrows, Wolf Link, and the Ball and Chain. (And Clawshot for one minor obstacle halfway through.) No Heart Pieces, no compass and map, no stamps; just a pure and simple race to the finish. With Gooey’s victory last episode and six victories prior to that, this is quite possibly Mases’ final chance to pull out a win for the war. Unless of course he actually comes good on his multiplier “stipulations” he so often jokes about. This episode in particular has a bit of a twist at the end requiring some viewer input, so make sure you watch until the very end and see!
An interesting moment in this episode was Mases recalling the creation of the Ice Block Cavern Guide here on Zelda Dungeon. That guide was actually one of the first things I ever read on Zelda Dungeon way back when Twilight Princess was still new and I was a tiny little kid who couldn’t figure out stuff like that. The guide is actually animated to show the movements needed to complete the puzzles, lovingly created using The Minish Cap assets as Mases explains in the video. It’s funny to think back to then, that I never realized as I was reading that guide that I would one day be a writer for Zelda Dungeon! The world’s a weird place sometimes.
What are your thoughts on the challenge? What are you feelings on the results here and how do you think the two of them should proceed? Let us know in the comments below, and make sure to subscribe to the Zelda Dungeon YouTube channel for more Zelda Warfare!
