mqdefaultSay goodbye to your wallets, Zelda fans! At New York Comic Con, new collectors items have been spotted, and otherwise detailed, for the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, one of which being trading cards! This is dangerous news for those that are hardcore collectors, but do not want to spend their life’s savings getting all the potential cards Nintendo could make, especially if these cards are meant to be used for an actual trading card game. But, for those wanting a new way to play with other Zelda fans, this could end up giving many of us a new hobby. YouTuber HMK details the NYCC findings, including all the noted collectibles coming next year, and gives his thoughts on them.

Cards, card tins, card sleeves, dog tags, playmats – dang, Nintendo, you are an assault to the bank account. This is rather impressive news for the 30th anniversary, because if these all come out next year, along with potentially Zelda Wii U, there could be even more to come. the 25th anniversary is still being celebrated, in a way, through the Symphony of the Goddess, so the 30th is likely to be just as hyped. I really hope that we get some more news on these soon.

As a related note, I think that it is awesome that Nintendo is sort of going back to its roots, in that it used to be a Hanafuda playing card company before the explosion of video game popularity. Perhaps they had this fact in mind when designing the new cards.

Are you ready to start collecting? Would you like to see these trading cards have an actual game using them? Drop a comment!
