Zelda Theory: Could the Twili Be the Descendants of the Gerudo?
Posted on December 28 2018 by Kristen G. Rosario
The Twili race you encounter in Twilight Princess are a very unique bunch. A peaceful tribe of shadow creatures who were ultimately transformed into beasts by the Usurper King Zant, the Twili are shown to have their own ways and customs separate fro Hyrule. One of the biggest mysteries surrounding this race is where exactly their very undefined family tree begin.
The YouTuber known as Macintyre believes that, due to the events that transpired between Ganondorf and Zant in Twilight Princess, the Twili are the descendants of the Gerudo race we meet in Ocarina of Time. He theorizes that the Twili’s original leader, who is said to have been banished for their and their tribes’ crimes, could have been an early Gerudo. The theory makes sense, as Gerudo are known to be able to possess great magic, with Urbosa from Breath of the Wild being a perfect example of that.
What do you think of this theory? Do you believe the Twili are descendants of the Gerudo? Let us know in the comments below!
