Zelda Theorist Looks at What a Nintendo-Developed Zelda Maker Would Feature

Next to getting a full-blown HD remake of your favorite Zelda game, I would assume that a make-your-own Zelda title from Nintendo would be on the top of a lot of fans’ lists. Who wouldn’t want to make their own Hyrule where every boss is Tingle? While something like this may not happen anytime soon, YouTube theorist Dr. Wily does look at the possible features a Nintendo-produced “Zelda Maker” would have.
Wily believes that this DIY title would not use any of the 3D-Zelda games as that would be too complex for most players. Instead, it would use a 2D overhead style that titles like A Link Between Worlds use. He believes that just the dialogue features, the NPCs, and the map system alone would make the game more complex than what Super Mario Maker has.
Like with Super Mario Maker, with its different level aesthetics, Wily sees the player being able to switch between the styles of The Legend of Zelda (NES), A Link to the Past, the GBA/DS Zelda games, and A Link Between Worlds. All of these titles have enough enemies, items, etc. to make a “Zelda Maker” possible.
Sadly though, Wily has confirmed that Nintendo currently has no plans for a maker game. There is a fan-made title called Legend Maker roaming around the internet from Justin Sink, but that’s really it. Wily thinks that while a Zelda Maker is not being made by the Big N at the moment, only time will tell.
What do you think of this theory? Would a Nintendo-produced “Zelda Maker” be something you would want? Let us know in the comments below!
