Zelda Theorist Analyzes The Champions’ Ballad to See if it Helped Breath of the Wild’s Story

Champions’ Ballad DLC for Breath of the Wild has been out for a little over a month, and most gamers have already had a chance to play it. While a lot of content in this DLC is good, it’s the “story” of this new story pack that some feel leaves a lot to be desired; maybe because there were a good amount of us expecting to get a deeper look into the flashbacks, or a tiny possibility of Link saying actual words. The Zelda theory we’re looking at today focuses on these concerns, as it asks if The Champions’ Ballad helped with the overall narrative of Breath of the Wild.
After successfully completing The Champions’ Ballad, Dr. Wily has decided to take a closer look at the story aspects of this DLC to see if it fixed the narrative problems that the main game suffered from. Wily does confirm that the DLC succeeds in better developing the characteristics of the Champions. Where it fails though is keeping Link silent, since having our hero speak would have helped to make him more relevant in the cutscenes, not just a stereotypical silent protagonist like he usually is.
