lost_woods_tavern_final_by_medders-d4t82jy-850x549 There are NO plans for a Zelda theme park, and the previous article was not meant to be released to the public for any reason other than the purposes of a traditional April Fool’s Day article. The Zelda Theme park post was written as an early concept for an April Fool’s article. It was in early development and had not even been approved by Zelda Dungeon. However, the first draft of this article was mistakenly published before the concept could be fully brought to life and determined acceptable as an article for said day. I apologize for this getting out, and for any distress it may have caused. Zelda Dungeon would never report such baseless news.

For those curious where the idea came from, it was while vacationing in Florida visiting Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure. It was here that I learned that Spider-Man would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe which got me speculating on the fate of the Marvel section at Universal. Rival company Disney currently owns Marvel, and while Disney agreed to uphold Universal’s contract with Marvel, their re-acquisition of Spider-Man (to a degree) invites the question of how long that will last. It was this reasoning that lead to my speculations while running around Marvel Island at Universal. I began to look closer at the rides and attractions there, curious as to what they could become– should Disney strong-arm the rights away from Universal.

Sadly there are no (known) plans of any Legend of Zelda theme park. However with the Netflix Zelda series announced and the possibility that Universal will need to re-theme a large section of their park soon it does seem to be a great door of opportunity, though an unlikely door to open. Mea culpa, we’ll make changes to assure that nothing like this happens again.
