Zelda Sound Synthesizer Flash

If you are ever feeling nostalgic for the early years of the “Legend of Zelda”, the folks on Albino Blacksheep have posted an amusing flash game called Zelda: A Link to the Past Synthesizer. This reproduces all the original sounds and songs of the original game just by clicking on all the sprites on the screen. There are also a couple little extra secrets to find out just by clicking on a couple random sprites if you are feeling a little adventurous.

Jump inside to see some pics for yourself.

The link takes you to the familiar A Link to the Past title screen and all you need to do is press the Start Game button to go to the sounds menu. From there you will see a series of various sprites of Link, some enemies, or even items. Clicking on them with play their characteristic sound associated with them. Along the left and right sides of the window are various backgrounds. Clicking on each will change the background behind the sprites to a different scene from the game. Along with each scene the background music from that scene will play continuously.

Also if you are feeling like discovering a few more secrets, click on the blue ocarina on the top left inventory slot. That will take you to a dungeon from the original “Legend of Zelda.” If you are having some trouble with what to do next just press the Tab key on your keyboard and it will tell you where to go next. From there you can chose to view a similar sounds menu from the original “Legend of Zelda” and the “Adventure of Link.”

It was pretty fun playing around with this for a little while. I liked how it had a selection of music to go along with all the sprite sounds. After a while I just left it on the Kakariko Village background and listened to the song for a while. It was a little better than playing it on YouTube for a while.I was a little surprised when I tried listening to the ocarina. I did not expect it to have a little minidungeon that leads to even more sounds to play with.

So what do you think? Do you like playing with the sounds? Wish they made more things like this? Let us know in the comments below.
