In a previous news post we mentioned that there will be Link and Zelda costumes in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (at least when it ships alongside the Wii U in November–you didn’t seriously think Nintendo characters would appear in an Xbox or PlayStation game?) We now have word that a certain Gerudo king will offer up his costume, as well as several other characters. As part of a Wii U exclusive “Mushroom Battle Mode”, the Tekken characters will adorn a Nintendo themed costume, including Ganondorf, Mario, and more.

If you’re a little late to the game, and would like a bit of background, head on over to the original GenGAME post which includes a video of the unique battle mode.

The new information, however, is that King, from Tekken, is shown clearly wearing a Ganondorf costume, which makes sense given the nature of the character. This will probably be the only time we see “Ganondorf” straying from his swine tendencies.

Additionally, here is a picture of the Zelda and Link skins, both in the Twilight Princess artwork, as is Ganondorf above. Though the clothes are nearly identical to the game from which they derive, the black hair on “Link” and blonde hair of “Zelda” throws me off.

If you’d like to see some more screenshots, head on over to the GenGAME post. Originally, the images came from 4Gamer, but that might be hard to wade through if you aren’t fluent in Japanese.

What do you Tekken fans think of this? What about non-Tekken fans? Tell us in the comments!
