Zelda Series Producer Remains Vague About Co-Op in Upcoming Breath of the Wild Sequel
Posted on June 14 2019 by John Piland
Despite rampant fan speculation about Princess Zelda being playable or the inclusion of co-op play in the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma remains a master at keeping the suspense.
When asked by IGN about the possibility of co-op in the game, Aonuma had but this to say:
“It’s kind of interesting that you bring that up, because in Breath of the Wild, you see Zelda and Link together often too, so to go straight into the thought of co-op is very interesting to me.”
Although Aonuma acts as though he may not have expected fans to react in such a way to the trailer, there is a solid piece of evidence from a 2016 interview with IGN that co-op — rather, some unspecified form of multiplayer — could indeed be a reality in this sequel.
What is your take on Aonuma’s words? Is he pulling a bluff, or does he know that fans are onto something? How do you feel about the possibility of co-op play in the next game? Let us know in the comments below.
