Hey there guys! We’ve got a mostly Zelda music themed mailbag for Music Week, as we talk about Breath of the Wild’s unique soundtrack again. Outside of music, we do a fairly significant dive into another subject as well, that being the idea of a cycle of reincarnation and just general recurrence in the series! Tell me all of your picks for most of these music questions, and I hope you enjoy the mailbag!
Questions and timestamps:
(00:30) – What’s the best Zelda song to dance to?
(00:56) – What’s one Zelda song you’ve always loved and still listen to even to this very day?
(02:25) – What do you think about Breath of the Wild’s musical score, and how they favored subtle, atmospheric tracks over the grand and adventurous tunes we have come to love? This applies particularly to the overworld, where most of the time playing the game is spent. Do you think it fits the game, or would you have preferred to have more memorable background music as you explore the world? It seems to have gotten a mixed response so far, so I am curious as to your thoughts on it.
(05:00) – What older Zelda songs would you like remixed in the style of BotW like they did with the Dragon Roost Island theme?
(06:15) – What Legend of Zelda song would you like to see make a return in higher quality?
(07:39) – What instrument was your favorite in Majora’s Mask?
(08:24) – Does Patricia Summersett in Breath of the Wild sound at all like how you’d imagine Princess Zelda to sound? Regardless of that answer, who would you cast as Princess Zelda if you had a say? You can pick any voice actress you want regardless of union status, just someone that Nintendo can realistically work with.
(09:40) – How do you feel about the never-ending cycle of Ganon, Zelda, and Link being reborn in every game and telling the same pre-determined story over and over?

Can you guess the quote on the paper, the sound at the beginning, or any of the music? How about your thoughts about the questions? What’s the best Zelda song to dance to, or one you love to listen to? How do you feel about Breath of the Wild’s soundtrack? What Zelda music would you have liked to hear done in the style of Breath of the Wild, or redone in general? Thoughts on the cycle going on throughout Hyrule’s history? Tell me in the comments!
