If you didn’t receive enough Zelda-themed merch this holiday and have a few rupees burning a hole in your wallet, this collection could be for you! In honor of the upcoming speedrunning marathon Awesome Games Done Quick 2021, video game merchandise company Fan Gamer has launched its AGDQ 2021 collection. Amongst the many goodies are a few The Legend of Zelda items, which include a Chicken Flight pin (available for pre-order), Legends of Localization Book 1: The Legend of Zelda, and Passport to The Legend of Zelda.

For their speedrunning marathon this year, Games Done Quick will be raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and for every $10 USD Chicken Flight pin sold, $5 USD will benefit the charity. The pin itself is designed by Nina Matsumoto and features Link and Navi taking to the skies via a flying Cucco. The hard-enamel pin measures about 1.5″ (3.8 cm) across, with two studs for secure fastening. The bold colors certainly make it stand out!

The Legends of Localization Book 1 takes a look at the differences between the English and Japanese versions of The Legend of Zelda. The author, Clyde Mandelin, is a professional translator most known for his work on Attack on Titan, amongst many other well-known series. The book promises to explore “the differences in graphics, audio and secret tricks which were removed from the English version.” In addition, “exclusive content not found online, including a look into re-releases of the first Zelda game to see how the localization process changed them over time.” As hardback books go, this one looks quite pretty and includes an Obi’-style jacket / poster and a bonus postcard. This will set you back $10 USD for the digital download and $29 USD for the hardcover.

If you ever wanted to try to learn Japanese, the Passport to The Legend of Zelda might give you some motivation! The passport contains character charts, basic grammar rules, and a full dictionary of every word in the game. According to the website there is also “a tutorial on how to explore the Japanese side of the Internet without actually knowing Japanese, as well as a guide on sights and sounds to look for when playing the Japanese version of the game! If you’ve ever wanted to dabble in learning basic Japanese but have been too scared, let this simple guide lead the way.” The Passport is $9 USD and is certainly a unique way to experience the original game.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 will run from January 3rd to January 9th. The marathon will feature six Zelda titles and so much more!
