Starting May 24th and running through to the 27th, Bingothon returns for a second time, after its debut in December of last year proved popular. The event is founded mainly by Zelda speedrunners, including Pikastroff and Floha, both of whom have been interviewed in our Zelda Runners series!

The event focuses on a particular type of speedruns, as suggested by the name – Bingo. The exact object of these changes depending on the type of bingo being used, regular bingo appears alongside categories such as Blackout (once a square is completed by one player the other player can no longer complete it) and Double/Triple (the aim is to complete two or three lines, not just one). Last time, the event featured Zelda runs from Breath of the WildOcarina of Time, and Skyward Sword. Once the schedule for the next marathon is confirmed, it’ll be reported in a Runners article.

The event raises money for foreign medical aid and relief organisation Doctors Without Borders. The previous marathon raised $640, however a much longer run time should see this figure rise. You can catch up on the previous marathon’s runs on their Youtube Channel here, and find out more about the event on their website. Plus, if you’re really interested, you could even submit your own run to the event!

Have you ever seen a Bingo Run before? Will you be tuning into Bingothon in May? Let us know in the comments!
