Zelda Fanatic Creates an Elaborate Zelda Roller Coaster in Planet Coaster

I have a lot of obsessions in my life: tabletop games, fortune telling, and The Legend of Zelda obviously. Another one of those obsessions however is roller coasters. From the little small town coasters off the highway to the elaborate life-sized dioramas of Disneyland, I love coasters, and I especially love coasters that tell stories. So when I noticed a ride-along video of a Zelda-themed coaster designed by YouTuber AttackingTucans in Planet Coaster, I needed to check it out immediately. I’m happy to say as a coaster enthusiast, it is an impressive piece of work.
Right off the bat, the video not only shows off the coaster itself, but an incredibly elaborate waiting area for the ride, including a full-sized Hyrule Castle with a courtyard and lower chamber for the Master Sword. The ride itself, aptly titled “Thrill of the Wild”, opens with in-ride dialogue provided by voice actress Lucahjin as Princess Zelda. Through the Sheikah Slate, she guides the rider through an adventure that merges Breath of the Wild, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and even more Zelda titles into a single storyline that handily wraps up at the very end as any good ride should.
What impresses me most about this coaster is its incredible sense of realism. Given the virtual nature of Planet Coaster, it’s easy for most to tinker with unfathomable concepts that just aren’t possible in reality, creating wild machines with colossal drops and mind-bending physics. AttackingTucan’s coaster on the other hand comes across as very possible to create in reality, given a high end budget of course. It makes incredible use of space, merging itself with the park exterior and makes clever use of dioramas to create a larger than life sense for the rider, much like the rides of Disneyland. If this what we get at the fabled Zelda section of Super Nintendo World, I’d be pretty happy with it.
You can check out the ridethrough video of the coaster above, and if you want more Zelda content or to see videos on the coaster being made, check out AttackingTucans’ YouTube channel right here!
