Majora’s Mask was a surreal game. When I first played it, I was fascinated by the reuse of Ocarina of Time‘s assets as a spin-off title. To my own surprise, I became engrossed in Termina and its plight. Years before the open-world Breath of the Wild, Termina had unique cultures that each possessed their own priorities, but would still engage in interspecies activities such as trade. The three-day programmed paths for the NPCs made the overworld feel dynamic and alive, more so than any game I had played before. My favorite region to explore is the Great Bay. Cleaning up its murky waters and going for a swim in the ocean was a blast for its sense of freedom and speed.

One of the hallmark sights in the Great Bay is the unnamed Giant Turtle that ferries Link to the harrowing Great Bay Temple. Sculpted Nostalgia created a tremendously detailed model of the Giant Turtle out of clay! It was fascinating how much work goes into creating a single model. If you have some spare time, give this video a watch. The LoFi Zelda music will help you chill while the sharply edited video covers the whole process from start to finish. The part that gets me the most is how tough it was to hand-make the pine trees and grass on the turtle’s back!

What do you think of this art piece? Have you ever worked on a clay project before? Is this sort of thing your interest? Let us know in the comments!
