YouTube Zelda Animator Hits 100k Subscribers, Announces New Project And Patreon Page

Getting to 100k subscribers is a pretty big deal, and YouTube content creator MajorLink just passed that milestone. To commemorate the occasion, he announced his upcoming animation project called “Hero’s Purpose” with a beautiful and haunting trailer.
The project aims to tell the story of the Hero of Time following the events of Majora’s Mask and leading up to his appearance before Twilight Princess, where he is seen as the Hero’s Shade. MajorLink also announced a Patreon page, where supporters can earn a wealth of behind-the-scenes stuff, get a look inside how he creates his films, and gain early access to the video before it comes out.
The Hero of Time is possibly the most iconic iteration of Link in the whole of the Zelda franchise. While we get to live the story that made him an icon in the Adult Timeline, his path in the Child Timeline following Majora’s Mask is a dark and mostly unknown one that ends with him appearing as the Hero’s Shade in Twilight Princess.
I am a huge fan of MajorLink, and the musical accompaniment that’s been provided by Brock Hewitt of Stories in Sound adds another awesome level of depth to his animations. These two have been recreating several iconic scenes from Ocarina of Time over the last few months, and it’s been incredible to see. Other sequences include a Hyrule Warriors-style mashup that showcased Link putting on the Fierce Deity’s Mask as well as some scenes from from Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess.
