This week on Windmill Hut we have another medley by Kyle Landry, except this time it’s specifically about the songs in Ocarina of Time. Of course, being a Kyle Landry video, this is piano medley, but it’s also a huge conglomeration of music from different parts of the game that add up to almost 14 minutes! In terms of length this is one of the longer medleys we’ve seen. It’s certainly not the longest medley that exists, but I’d argue that it’s the longest medley that is fantastic all the way though. So without further ado, hit the jump to listen!

Here’re the line up:

  1. Link’s House
  2. Shop Theme
  3. Song of Storms
  4. Minuet of Forest
  5. Bolero of Fire
  6. Serenade of Water
  7. Noctune of Shadow
  8. Requiem of Spirit
  9. Title Theme
  10. Ending Theme (Zelda’s Lullaby)
  11. Fairy Fountain
  12. Gerudo Valley
  13. The Close

It turns out that Kyle Landry put this all together in a fit of passion and musical inspiration when looking for music for another piece. After tinkering a bit, he wrote in some transitions, and within 10 takes he got this masterpiece!

Though he stated he knows all the music well to be able to put it together so quickly, with this kind of impromptu recording you can see the hastily put together and taped up sheet music on his wall. I can’t imagine how many pages of music it is altogether. He unfortunately doesn’t have the collection sheet music uploaded to his website, but I’d imagine he did some improvising in the video which wouldn’t show up in the sheet music, anyway.

What did you think of the medley? Let us know in the comments!
