"You caught # Woodland Rhino Beetle! Collectors often polish the hard carapaces of these beetles to make them tougher. It's the strongest of all the insects."

— In-game Description[1]

The Woodland Rhino Beetle is one of several collectible insects found within the Sealed Grounds, Faron Woods and the Deep Woods in Skyward Sword.[2] Unlike most bugs in the game, Link does not need a Bug Net to catch this creature. Link can simply roll into the wall, causing the bug to fall to the ground where he can then collect it.[3][4] They are used mainly in upgrading Potions, specifically the Heart Potion and the Revitalizing Potion.
