(region)

Woodfall is a region of Termina in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The region contains the Southern Swamp, the Woods of Mystery, the Deku Palace, and Woodfall. As its name may suggest, the area is abundant in swamplands; however, all the swamp water in the area had been contaminated and rendered poisonous by the Skull Kid before Link arrived. These swamps can usually be crossed by Deku Scrubs by utilizing the Lily Pads found there; indeed, before the swamp water is cleansed after the defeat of Odolwa, it is the only way to safely cross the swamps, apart from by boat.

This region is ruled by a monarchy of Deku Scrubs. Other species have come to live here as well, which is strange due to how territorial the native Deku Scrubs are. The Deku Scrubs rule from the Deku Palace, and refuse to allow anyone except other Deku Scrubs entry. The swamp is also populated by monkeys, but it is unknown where they live.

(location)

Woodfall is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is a murky bog in Woodfall. Woodfall consists of poisonous water, Lily Pads, large tree stumps that serve as platforms, and a raised platform that allows access to Woodfall Temple. The temple is submerged beneath the murky water and is raised after Link, in his Deku form, stands on the central podium and plays the "Sonata of Awakening" on the Pipes of Awakening. Dragonflies, Hiploops, and Mad Scrubs reside along the path to the temple. Woodfall contains a Great Fairy Fountain, where Link can learn the Magic Spin Attack after he collects all of the Stray Fairies from Woodfall Temple.

After Link defeats Odolwa in Woodfall Temple, the poisoned water is purified and returns to normal. Additionally, a bridge appears, granting easy access to the chamber where the Deku Princess was held captive. However, when Link returns to the First Day, the bridge that leads to the Deku Princess' chamber sinks back into the water, along with the temple, and the water in the swamp becomes toxic again.
