"A woodcutter's tool of choice for felling trees. Its formidable weight and uneven balancing make it a slow, inefficient weapon."

— In-Game Description[1]

The Woodcutter's Axe is a two-handed axe found in Breath of the Wild. It has a base power of 3, and is one of the first items Link can come across in the game, as it can be found resting in close proximity to the Shrine of Resurrection, where Link first meets the Old Man. It isn't recommended to use this weapon against enemies, as it has a weak damage output. Instead, the axe should be used to knock down trees, in order to obtain Wood or Apples which may be difficult to reach. Its design is just a simple wooden stick which has been affixed to a piece of metal fashioned to be in the shape of an axe head.

A Woodcutter's Axe can be found at the Woodcutter's House at the south end of the Great Plateau. Additionally, the Old Man can be seen wielding one, as he chops down some wood, near the Woodcutter's House.
