Water Tektites are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. As their name implies, they are Tektites that reside in water. Water Tektites glide across the surface of water, similar to real world water striders or fisher spiders.

Appearances
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Water Tektites are encountered exclusively within Swamp Palace. They are small green spider-like creatures that skim the surface of the water. The attack method of Water Tektites consists of drifting into Link to damage him. They can easily be defeated with Link's sword or any of his other weapons. In the last stretch of dungeon, before the battle with the boss, Arrghus, these creatures appear in deep water below a ledge. Since Link cannot attack while swimming, he has no way to attack them and must simply jump into the water and avoid them as best he can.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Water Tektites appear in Angler's Tunnel and Catfish's Maw. They attack Link by sliding into him while atop the water and can easily be defeated with a sword attack or with almost any other weapon. Link can also dive to avoid them entirely.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
While no true Water Tektites appear in either game, Blue Tektites have a similar ability to move on the surface of water. These Tektites can move on land as well, and rather than smoothly gliding along the water's surface, they simply land on it and jump along it like they do on solid ground.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons
A Water Tektite from Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons
Water Tektites skim the water and act very similar to their Link's Awakening counterparts.
