Wall Turrets are enemies that appear in A Link to the Past and Four Swords Adventures.

Appearances

A Link to the Past

The first Wall Turrets are found within the Desert Palace in the room that has a Treasure Chest containing the Big Key. They are connected to the wall as if they were on a rail. They will move along the wall shooting a Ball out towards Link that resembles that of a bowling ball. Turrets are always on opposite walls from each other, making the balls roll across the room in crossfire. The Turrets themselves cannot be defeated and neither can the actual Balls that are shot out. Link can only avoid the balls that are shot out. Link can time his movements as the turrets will shoot out balls in consistent intervals.

Turrets later appear much later on in Link's journey when he is in Ganon's Tower. At this point in the quest, Link can use the Magic Cape to easily walk through the Turret filled rooms as the balls cannot hit an invisible Link.

Strangely, the amount of Balls that are shot out of a Turret depends on the amount of enemies located in the adjacent rooms. If the adjacent rooms are filled with enemies where Link has not defeated any of them, the Wall Turrets will only shoot at most four balls. The turrets will still go through the animation as if they are shooting balls, but nothing will come out.
