Trial Gate

Trial Gates are portals to the trials in the Silent Realm in Skyward Sword.

Overview

There are a total of four Trial Gates in the game, numbering one in each region (including Skyloft). These gates can be found by looking for the Blessed Butterflies that fly around the area or by dowsing for them after learning the correct ballad from the Isle of Songs.

Once the gate is found, Link can begin playing the Goddess's Harp to the correct tempo. Fi joins in when he hits the correct tempo and the gate begins to unfold, resembling petals of a flower. If Link loses tempo, he must start over again.

Once the gate is activated, Link can use his sword to enter the Silent Realm and begin the trial.

Locations

All of the gates are located in front of memorable landmarks. In the Faron Woods, the gate can be found near the viewing platform, one map away from the first dungeon of the game.

Unlike the first gate, the second and third gates are found nearby their respective dungeons, the Earth Temple and Lanayru Mining Facility respectively.

Finally, the fourth and final trial is found near the Light Tower in Skyloft.
