"A very common sword often kept by travelers to fend off small beasts. It's fairly durable, but a bit unreliable against monsters."

— In-Game Description[1]

The Traveler's Sword is a sword found in Breath of the Wild. It has a base power of 5, and is an uncommon weapon of choice for Bokoblins and Stalkoblins in and around the Great Plateau. It is dented and scratched in appearance, with a short cross-guard.

As Link can find a Traveler's Sword in a Treasure Chest at the northeast portion of Great Plateau, as well as picking them up from enemies, it is a fine weapon for the early game. However, as soon as Link gets off the Great Plateau and can find much more powerful weapons, the Traveler's Sword quickly becomes outclassed.

Many traveler's that Link encounter throughout the world are equipped with the Traveler's Sword. When another character or enemy uses the Traveler's Sword, it has unlimited durability and will never break. Some travelers who are being attacked by enemy Bokoblin might have a Traveler's Sword, but will choose not to fight with it, and instead will just try to run away.

The Weapon Connoisseur

Main article: The Weapon Connoisseur

As part of The Weapon Connoisseur quest, which is given to Link by Nebb at Hateno Village, Link will need to find specific weapons. The first weapon in this quest is the Traveler's Sword. By showing it to Nebb, Link will earn a Red Rupee.
