A Trading Sequence is a type of side-quest that has appeared in five Zelda games to date. It usually involves lots of items, time limits, and mini-games that in the end will usually reward Link with a prize.

Appearances

As stated above, the Trading Sequence has appeared in five games, starting with Link's Awakening.

Ocarina of Time

The Ocarina of Time's Trading Sequence involves 12 items. The reward of completing the sequence is the Biggoron's Sword, a two-handed weapon which deals more damage than the Master Sword. It is very similar to the Giant's Knife, which can be bought at Goron City, but unlike the Giant's Knife the Biggoron Sword does never break after a set amount of swings.

Requirements

Link needs to do two jobs before or during the Trading Sequence. He must free King Zora from the Red Ice and he needs Epona. Young Link can also plant Magic Beans to make the side-quest easier, but this is completely optional.

Pocket Egg

The Pocket Egg is the first item in the trading sequence. Link can get it from the Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village. She wants Link to make the Cucco happy by waking up a very lazy person.

Cucco

After one day a Cucco will hatch from the collected Egg. It needs to be brought to Talon, who sleeps in a house in Kakariko Village. He wakes up and returns to the farm. Link can now go to the Cucco Lady to gather a special Cucco.

Cojiro

Cojiro is the third part in the Trading Sequence. It used to be the Cucco Lady's brother's cucco. Link needs to bring Cojiro to a stranger in the Lost Woods. He gives Link the next item.

Odd Mushroom

The guy in the lost woods gives Link the Odd Mushroom. He wants Link to bring it to a Potion Shop in Kakariko Village. This fresh mushroom will hand down very quickly. It will become useless in 3 minutes. Warp Songs don't work here.

Odd Potion

The Women at the potion shop, who obviously knows the person in the lost woods, makes a strong medicine for him. When Link returns to the Lost Woods, he will meet a Kokiri, namely Fado, instead.

Poacher's Saw

When talking to Fado, she tells Link that the previous person became a Stalfos. When Link gives the Odd Potion to her, she will give him the Poacher's Saw. Link's next destination is Gerudo Valley. After crossing the broken bridge, he can talk to the leader of the Carpenters, who gives him the Broken Goron's Sword for the saw.

Broken Goron's Sword

The creator of the broken sword is Biggoron, who can be found on top of Death Mountain. Once Link talks to him, he assures Link that his Swords are much better than the Giant's knives made by his brother. He offers Link a free repair. His eyes are unfortunately irrated by the last eruption, so he cannot fix it, yet. He wants Link to go to Zora's Domain to get some Eye Drops for him. Biggoron gives Link a Prescription.

Prescription

Once Link arrives at Zora's Domain, he can talk to King Zora. The King tells Link, that he only has the ingredients - the Eyeball Frog.

Eyeball Frog

The Eyeball Frog needs to be delivered fresh. Link has 3 minutes to bring them to the Lake Scientist, who will be very disappointed that the frog is only used for eye drops. Warp songs won't work here.

World's Finest Eye Drops

After receiving the World's Finest Eye Drops from the Scientist, Link has to deliver them to Biggoron in 4 minutes.

Claim Check

After Biggoron used the Eye Drops, he can continue the sword business. He gives Link the Claim Check. Biggoron will finish his work in 3 days.

Biggoron's Sword

Once the 3 days have passed, Link can get the repaired sword from Biggoron.
