Rauru is a town from The Adventure of Link. It is found in Western Hyrule, directly east of the North Palace. Here, Link receives the Shield Spell, a lead on the location of the first heart container[1], and important clues regarding Parapa Palace[2][3]. Link is also informed by the Wise Man's Daughter that a Wise Man resides in every town and each have something to teach him[4].
