The Touching Book is the ninth item obtained in the Trading Sequence in Oracle of Ages.
Link will have to go the exact same location in the Past where he got the Funny Joke, and enter the house besides him. There is a boy who is depressed and if Link tells him the Funny Joke, it will cheer him up and make him happier. He says it was so funny that he forgot to laugh. Link will then be acquired the Touching Book as a reward for helping him get happier. The Touching Book is later being dropped by Link after he bumped into Maple and as she reads the book, she will give Link the Magic Oar in return.
