Trade for the Magic Oar

The Touching Book is the ninth item in the Trading Sequence of Oracle of Ages.

In the same location that Link acquires the Funny Joke from the Comedian in the Past, Link can enter the nearby house. Inside, Link will find Dekadin, a depressed young boy who is eager to laugh away his troubles.[1] If Link tells him the Funny Joke, he will become happier. Although he says he forgot to laugh, and gives Link the Touching Book as appreciation for his effort.[2]

If Link bumps into Maple after acquiring the Touching Book, she will pick it up and give him the Magic Oar in return.
