At 5am each morning Toren will walk outside of the stable where he will stand by the Cooking Pot. Toren remains out there until 10pm each evening, where he will then head back to the stable and sit on the stool for the rest of the night.

Whenever it rains, Toren will take cover within the stable. On rainy days, he stays inside and spends the whole day thinking about the Great Fairy.[2]

A Gift for the Great Fairy

When Link first talks to Toren, he talks about wanting to travel to the Tabantha Tower, as from there, he'd be able to see where the Great Fairy is located.[3] However, he doesn't think he can climb the tower himself. So instead, Toren will task Link with traveling there for him. Toren will give Link the rupees needed in order to present to the Great Fairy as an offering.[4]

Toren suggests to Link that sometime in the afternoon, the shadow of the tower will point to the Great Fairy's fountain.[5]

After reaching the Fairy Fountain and giving the rupee offering to the Great Fairy Kaysa, Link can return to the stable to speak with Toren. Toren is delighted that Link was able to find the Great Fairy and give the offering, which because Toren gave Link the rupees, he technically got to make his offering.[6] [7] Although Toren gets a bit upset when he realizes that Link wants an additional reward, which Toren does not give.[8]

Tears of the Kingdom

Toren is part of the search party, tasked with finding Princess Zelda. Early on, he can be found on the First Gatehouse alongside Captain Hoz. When Link approaches, Toren will see Zelda in the distance.[9] Although after appearing briefly, Zelda will float up, turn into light, and fly away. This causes Toren and Hoz to be confused, but they then pull back the search party.[10]

Bring Peace to Eldin!

Main article: Bring Peace to Eldin!

Toren can be found leading His Squad, at the southeast end of Lake Darman. They are preparing to attack the Lake Darman Monster Den as part of the Bring Peace to Eldin! quest.[11] As soon as Link speaks with Toren, or one of the members of his squad, this will begin the attack as the group heads easteward.[12]

Torren will lead his squad into battle within the Lake Darman Monster Den. After successfully defeating the Marauders of Eldin, Toren will thank everybody and will call Link over.[13] He thanks Link again and will comment on Link not having his Master Sword if he didn't get it on his quest yet.[14] Toren will then reward Link with a Silver Rupee.[15] Toren will then say they are off to Akkala next, at the Akkala Span. This will complete the Bring Piece to Eldin! quest, but will then unlock the Bring Peace to Akkala! quest.[16]

Bring Peace to Akkala!

Main article: Bring Peace to Akkala!

After completing the Bring Peace to Eldin! quest, this will automatically begin the Bring Peace to Akkala! quest. Toren and his squad can be found just south of the Akkala Span. When Link draws near, the squad will attack the forces at the the Span. After defeating the Marauders of Akkala, Toren will once again reward Link with a Silver Rupee.[17]

If Link has helped all three squads two times, Toren will give Link an addition reward of a Monster-Control-Crew Fabric.[18] Toren will then tell Link he's going to give his squad a break, but warns that once the Blood Moon rises, they will be back at it once again.[19] This will complete the Bring Peace to Akkala quest.
