The Torch Trap is a recurring trap first introduced in Link's Awakening. Upon first glance, it looks just like a normal torch, but it shoots fireballs at Link when he enters the room. Often, there is more than one Torch Trap in a room, and they can prove to be quite annoying, especially if Link is fighting enemies at the same time. This enemy is invincible; the only "effective" strategy is simply running away from it as it cannot be harmed.

In some cases, such as in Oracle of Seasons, the Torch Trap is connected to the enemies within the room. The Torch will attack Link, until he has defeated all of the enemies in the room. Once Link has done so, the Torch Trap will no longer shoot any fireballs out.
