It will be later, after completing the Wing Dungeon, that Link will meet up with the boxing kangaroo, Ricky, around this same area. After finding Ricky's lost Boxing Gloves, Link will get to ride in Ricky's pouch.
Ricky's special ability allows him to scale the cliffs to get to Tingle, who will give Link an Island Chart which he needs to sail to Crescent Island. Later in his adventure, after obtaining the Seed Shooter, Link can once again visit Tingle and have his Seed Satchel upgraded. At this point, Link will not need Ricky's assistance in scaling the cliffs, as he will have enough items to help him do so. Tingle will upgrade Link's seed satchel to hold up to 50 different seeds of each kind.
Tingle Secret

In a Linked Game of Oracle of Seasons, Link will encounter the Woods of Winter Great Fairy, located just east of Snake's Remains. The Fairy will give Link the Tingle Secret, which Link can bring back to Tingle in Oracle of Ages. After telling Tingle the secret, Tingle will increase Link Seed Satchel capacity again, this time upgrading it to 99 different seeds. Tingle will then give Link a secret, which Link can take to Farore in Holodrum, so that he can get the seed satchel there as well.
The Wind Waker
In The Wind Waker, Tingle is first seen imprisoned in the Town Jail at Windfall Island. He is imprisoned as he is believed to have stolen Lenzo's Pictograph.[2] Although Tingle's good friend Zunari believes that he is falsely imprisoned and was only locked up because of his suspicious looks. Zunari will task Link with trying to free him.[3]
When Link first enters the town jail, Tingle will call out to him. Due to Link's clothing, Tingle will ask if Link is a Fairy.[4] He thinks because of Link's looks, that is why he thinks Link might help him out.[5] Tingle has long been looking for a fairy boy like Link, but was mistaken for some kind of troublemaker and imprisoned.[6] Tingle promises to give Link a fabulous present if he rescues him from the jail cell.[7][8]
After freeing him, Tingle will give Link the Tingle Tuner, or if playing The Wind Waker HD, a Tingle Bottle.[9] He will also give Link Tingle's Chart, which allows Link to find Tingle Island, as well as locations of Great Fairies where Link can receive Wallet Upgrades. The Tingle Tuner is an optional item for players who own a Game Boy Advance and a Nintendo GameCube - Game Boy Advance Cable, the player can then view a map of Link's current area on the Game Boy Advance screen where Tingle will provide Link with hints and advice, including secrets that can only be obtained using the Tingle Tuner such as the hidden Tingle Statues found in the games dungeons.
Link is later given the IN-credible Chart which shows the locations of the Triforce Charts. Link must eventually seek Tingle's services to decipher the Triforce charts for 398 Rupees each.
Tingle also has two brothers and a "friend" who dresses the same as he does. His younger brother Ankle can be found working on Tingle Island, his outfit is identical to Tingle's except Ankle is dressed in pink.
Tingle's older brother Knuckle, who wears a light blue Tingle suit, lives on Outset Island, but he can only be found by players using the Tingle Tuner, after finding him Knuckle will appear on Tingle Island.
David Jr. dresses in a white Tingle suit and is found alongside Ankle on Tingle Island. Unlike Ankle and Knuckle, David Jr. is not biologically related to Tingle, he apparently was found shipwrecked on Tingle Island where he was dressed up in the silly white outfit and forced to work on Tingle Island. He apparently continues to question why he still works there.

Four Swords Adventures
In Four Swords Adventures, when the Links cannot collect Force Gems fast enough, Tingle will fly in on his red balloon and snatch them up. If playing multiplayer mode, in each Hyrulean Adventure level there is a Tingle Tower, where eight minigames are available to play.
The Minish Cap
In The Minish Cap, Link can find Tingle in South Hyrule Field just east of his house. Link can only reach Tingle after acquiring the Cane of Pacci from the Cave of Flames. Once the Cane of Pacci has been retrieved, Link can use it on a nearby hole to reach the higher platform that Tingle is on. Like in previous games, Tingle will note Link's green cap and clothes, thinking that he might be a fairy. He wants to fuse Kinstones and states that he has also given Kinstones to his brothers[10]
If Link makes a successful Kinstone Fusion with Tingle, a tree will be accessible in North Hyrule Field. After Link later fuses Kinstones with Ankle, Knuckle and David Jr., other trees will be accessible in North Hyrule Field and it will lead to Link acquiring the Magical Boomerang.
Link is able to return to Tingle at anytime to speak with him in which Tingle will let Link know how many possible Kinstone fusions there are remaining in the world. Link can also fuse random Green Kinstones with Tingle. After Link has fused all possible Kinstones, return to Tingle and talk to him to receive the Tingle Trophy.

Trivia
- There is some concept art in the Spirit Tracks section of Hyrule Historia of a train car that is shaped like Tingle.[11]
- Purlo, who runs the STAR Game in Twilight Princess, looks fairly similar to Tingle in terms of appearance. Eiji Aonuma has stated that Purlo is what Tingle would look like if he was a realistic character.
- Numerous statues of Tingle can be found throughout the homes and shops of Spirit Tracks. Furthermore, a gold statue can be found at the Trading Post.
- A doll that greatly resembles Tingle can be found on a shelf in Zelda's room at the Knight Academy in Skyward Sword. This presents quite a paradox in The Legend of Zelda universe, as Skyward Sword is the first game in the timeline and thus Tingle has yet to exist.
