This is the official manga for Oracle of Ages. It is written and illustrated by Akira Himekawa, the same artist who made many of the other Zelda mangas. It was released as a two-part manga alongside Oracle of Seasons Manga. It is in black and white with some pretty nicely illustrated drawings. The story more or less follows the same story as the game other than a few slight differences.

This manga was released in Japan on December 25, 2001. An English adaptation of this manga was released by Viz Media on June 2, 2009, as Volume 5 of their Zelda comic series.

After defeating the evil General Onox in Holodrum, Link returns to Hyrule. One day, Impa, Princess Zelda's attendant, asks Link to accompany her into the forest to find Nayru, the Oracle of Ages. But Veran, the evil Sorceress of Shadows, has possessed Impa in order to deceive Link. Veran then possesses Nayru and travels back to the past to kill one of Link's ancestors so that Link will never be born! Link once again battles across time to save Hyrule--and himself!

Differences Between the Game and the Manga

  • The manga begins with Link in a village.
  • Link is shown with grandparents when he doesn't in the game.
  • Nayru has the Harp of Ages instead of leaving it in her house.
  • Link is with Impa in the city instead of being dropped in the middle of a forest.
  • None of the dungeons in the game are entered.
  • Link doesn't gather any essences.
  • Link receives help from friends when battling enemies, such as Maple and Ricky.
  • There are new character exclusives to the Manga such as Lord Raven, Resuta, and Roperi.
  • The bosses appear as random enemies sent by Gorgon.
  • Link encounters his ancestor Lord Raven.
