The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a Nintendo 3DS game released on June 19th 2011 in North America. It is a 3D action/adventure game set in Hyrule, and is a remake of the original Nintendo 64 game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The graphics were improved and a Boss Challenge mode was added, but the story, characters, enemies, and locations are no different from the original.

Changes between The Nintendo 64 version and 3DS version

The main difference is the graphics; the 3DS version graphics are vastly improved from the Nintendo 64 graphics. Also, there was an improvement with the controls; the start menu interface was replaced with a touchscreen control interface. This works incredibly, making it much easier to equip items. Gyroscope controls were added as well, an optional feature which allows the player to control view or aim weapons by moving the system itself. The Master Quest was put in as an unlockable, available once the player finished the main quest. There was another feature put in which was able to be accessed after completing the Forest Temple, the Boss Challenge and Boss Gauntlet modes. This mode allows the player to replay bosses, recording the time it takes for the player to make it through the boss or boss gauntlet.

Merchandise

  • These Ocarina of Time 3D Scrolls were given away to select winners that attended the Nintendo Connection Tour 2011 in Australia. There are three different designs and in total they are limited to 80 units.
