Tektites are common enemies found in The Legend of Zelda series. Their appearance is similar to that of a spider. Tektites jump around and attempt to land Link in order to damage him. Tektites appear in many different locations, ranging from Mountains to Lakes.

Legend Of Zelda

In the Legend Of Zelda, Tekitites come in two varieties, red and blue. They jump around the screen and attempt to jump into Link. They can be defeated by using the sword or the bow and arrows.

Adventure Of Link

Tektites in Adventure Of Link are considerably more difficult. In order to defeat them, Link must use the fire spell and attack them with fire balls, or use the Thunder Spell. They will jump above Link and try to fall on him to cause damage. They also spit rocks.

A Link To The Past

The Tektites in A Link To The Past are similar to that of the Tektites in Legend Of Zelda. They come in both blue and red variations, although in A Link To The Past, the red variation is much faster and harder to defeat. They are found in the upper mountain region.

Link's Awakening

Tektites are common in the Tal Tal Mountain Range and Northern Koholint Island. Their appearance in this game looks generally square compared to other versions of Tektites.

Ocarina Of Time

In Ocarina Of Time, Tektites come in red and blue variations. The red variation is found on Death Mountain and the blue variation at Lake Hylia, Zora's River and in the Water Temple. The blue type is able to float on top of water. They are the same speed, although the blue variation are more durable. To defeat them, Link can use the Megaton Hammer to make a shockwave and flip them over, and the hookshot and longshot have the ability to stun them. This makes it easier for Link to attack with his sword.

Majora's Mask

Blue Tektites are found in the Great Bay region, and like the blue Tektites in Ocarina of Time, they can also float on water. They can also be found in the Snowhead region where they can pop-up from underneath the ground or are concealed in snowballs.

Twilight Princess

Tektites appear in Twilight Princess in much the same way they do in Ocarina of Time. The red Tektites inhabit mountain passes while the blue Tektites are found in water locations. Both the red and the blue variation of Tektites are in the Cave of Ordeals. Tektites have the ability to knock Link from his horse.

Phantom Hourglass

Again appearing in both red and blue variations, Tektites are found in the volcano at the middle of the Isle of Ember and Doylans pyramid. The red variation is faster and more powerful than the blue type.

Spirit Tracks

In Spirit Tracks Tektites are much larger and are found when Link travels through the tunnels that connect the various locations. They climb on the ceiling and walls of the caves and attempt to drop on the Spirit Train. To defeat them Link must fire the cannon attached to the spirit train at the Tektite.
