I always assumed that's who she was, if only because I figured the "Martha" in Martha's Bay had to refer to somebody and it seemed logical to be the one person who lives in it. However, people have pointed out that in the ''Hyrule Encyclopedia'' and the Switch version of ''Link's Awakening'', she isn't named Martha at all. In both, she's only given the title of "Mermaid".

Maybe that's reason enough to rename the entire page, but the game and the book aren't actually saying that her name ''isn't'' Martha; they just don't tell us what it is. I have heard of past sources that actually gave her the name of Martha, but are they sound and reliable enough to justify her still being called that? Name

I don't necessarily think this is something that needs to be changed; I'm just asking. What is the source, if any, that this mermaid's name is Martha?

I always assumed that's who she was, if only because I figured the "Martha" in Martha's Bay had to refer to somebody and it seemed logical to be the one person who lives in it. However, people have pointed out that in the Hyrule Encyclopedia and the Switch version of Link's Awakening, she isn't named Martha at all. In both, she's only given the title of "Mermaid".

Maybe that's reason enough to rename the entire page, but the game and the book aren't actually saying that her name isn't Martha. They don't tell us what her name is or if she has one, but theoretically, she still could, right?
