:But that's not the point. I think I know where the issue lies here...Phantom Ganon's sword doesn't really have a tip, per say, like most normal swords do. It's just a big block of blade. When the sword falls to the ground it lands with the smallest part of the sword pointing away from you; in this case the hilt, which pretty much looks like a point or tip compared to the rest of the sword. Regardless, I've updated it to use hilt instead. {{:User:Josh/sig}}  13:33, May 15, 2016 (UTC)

I've noticed errors in the page for korok seeds on Breath of the Wild. When you look at the korok seed page, it says that there's 55 korok seeds in the region, but the tower page and gathering page says there's 55, and if you take a quick google search it says there's 60. I'm a tad confused and I'm finding the site really hard to navigate and find correct information. I've also never edited a wiki page before so I don't want to accidentally break the entire page trying to fix it. Speaking of the map, I've had problems with it. There are four chests marked on the Great Plateau, containing a Phrenic bow, ten bomb arrows, ten arrows, and ten ice arrows. A lengthy google search led me to Reddit where it's said that those four chests are part of a DLC, and cannot be accessed in main game. I have DLC and Master Mode hidden and they're still visible. I'm not sure who to reach out to about this, so this is my closest bet at the moment. [[User:LuluTheZora|LuluTheZora]] ([[User talk:LuluTheZora|talk]]) 23:08, November 21, 2022 (UTC)

Add Spin-off Titles to Main Navigation Page

We should make the navigation for all games including Spin-off titles, to increase the number of viewers of ZD Wiki. Dark Link 12:19, April 21, 2012 (CDT)

I agree. But, somebody with image editing talent should make navigation icons for these games... Lanzz 13:01, April 21, 2012 (CDT)
The main navigation is currently a place holder for the main page. We are not going to have what is currently on the front page for much longer. The staff have been running through many ideas in regards to the main page, and we're working on a solution. Eventually, all of the main pages in the main header of the site will be replaced with links to the Wiki which will really increase page views and viewers. Thanks for your concern though. — ~David (Talk) 15:58, April 21, 2012 (CDT)

Announcement Request

Can someone please make an announcement on the main page that asks people to start editing the wiki again? I think I'm the only user that is making new pages, fixing typos, etc. And there is so little information about Link Between Worlds, so many stub articles, and so many wanted pages. I can't do it all by myself.

Correction: I'm not the only user editing, but not many people are editing. ZD Wiki Editor (talk) 05:26, May 9, 2016 (UTC)

Most wikis slow down over time. Especially small ones. It's part of the process. We're expecting a surge of activity when the next console game is released. In the meantime though, announcements on the main page asking people to edit really aren't going to help. Instead I've already suggested some other promotions we can try in our staff chat. We'll see where those go. It's been uncomfortably slow for a while.— Emma (Talk) 14:49, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

I hope the editing speeds up son. ZD Wiki Editor (talk) 05:14, May 12, 2016 (UTC)

Errors In The Legend of Zelda Walkthroughs

Twilight Princess - (Forest temple, getting the big key) To reach the chest that sits behind the gate, you must use the gale boomerang to fling at the four pedestals with fans on top; causing the fans to spin and open the gate. You must do it in an order that is printed on the ground, in the shape of the letter Z. To do this, you must target all the fans with the boomerang and- wait what? How do you target all the fans at the same time? Also, so that it stays in the order of an Z? No, its not one straight line. It needs to include how to hit all the fans at the same time as well.

Skyward Sword - (Throughout the whole game) Throughout the game, you'll come across grey cubes with Triforce and Goddess patterns all over it.These cubes were sent from the Goddess to be struck by the Legendary hero, you. Once they are struck with a Skyward Strike with your sword, they'll shoot up into the sky in a beam of light. When you travel in the sky, where the cubes located are shown on the map. You can go to them and get treasure such as pieces of heart, rupees or bomb/seed bags. But a couple of cubes, when shot into the sky, you cannot find them. When you travel to where they "are" they are no where to be seen or the treasure chest is still grey. (Grey chest - deactivated so you can't open it. Purple/Lilac chest - activated so you can open it.). Where are you meant to get these chests? Or is this some kind of glitch?

Majora's Mask - (Some minor problem/suggestion) Make another Majora's Mask walkthrough but with 3DS version and the other being N64 version as there are many differences between the two. Look at Twilight Princess as they made two, one for Wii and one for Wii U. (The beginning - Finding the bombers) It would be helpful if you typed the code as well when they told you it, so people can check it if they need to go and see the bombers if they forget.

Spirit Tracks - (Lost Woods) When guiding the way out of the Lost Woods, it would look easier and simpler if it was in bullet points with a shorter format. Just a suggestion, Otherwise its fine and helpful.

Link Between Worlds - (Dark Palace) This is coming from experience, but I used the wrong key for the wrong door in this dungeon. When I say the "wrong door", I mean when I entered it, I couldn't go much further into the dungeon. I should of used the key for the door that led deeper into the dungeon. It would be helpful if in this walkthrough it explained how to get the other key, located where it looks like a dark maze with secret doors and weak spots.

Phantom Hourglass - (Ghost Ship & Times End) Even though I unfortunately didn't get to finish this game, I still have a suggestion about the walkthrough its self. Chapter 4, the ghost ship. 4.1 and 4.2 that are before actually fighting the Ghost Ship, I believe should be on another chapter since the ghost ship is the main part. Also at the last chapter, "Times End" you might want to keep the same background as its more clearer.

Just a few suggestions and mistakes. Hope this helped~ TattooArtist (talk) 18:58, July 25, 2016 (UTC) ^_^ the preceding unsigned post by TattooArtist (contribs) at 19:38, May 9, 2016 (UTC)

In the future, please sign your posts by simply typing four tilde characters (this: ~~~~) instead of typing out your name. Just those characters, don't add your name to it. This helps clearly differentiate posters and help tell when posts were made. I'll forward this to our walkthrough people. That's really their area.— Emma (Talk) 14:49, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

There's also an error in the Wind Waker walkthrough. After the battle with Phantom Ganon in Ganon's Castle, Phantom Ganon drops his sword. Then, Link needs to enter the door that the sword's blade is pointing to. But the walkthrough said to drop it in the center of the room, which shouldn't be done, and to follow the hilt, which leads to the wrong door. Can you please tell the walkthrough people about this? ZD Wiki Editor (talk) 05:05, May 12, 2016 (UTC)

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for pointing these out. Many of our walkthroughs have...significant issues, something that we need to address over time. We are always in the process of updating our content whenever possible, but our walkthrough team is not as large as it used to be, and it is sometimes rather slow-going. Regardless, I'll look at the suggestions you provided and implement as many of them as I can.
Our walkthroughs do have comment sections now, and I do look at them occasionally as they are often our main form of communication with guide readers. Perhaps you would like to comment suggestions on each walkthrough page instead, so as to not clog up this page and also immediately help other readers with your suggestions?
Also - ZD Wiki Editor - I'm not sure on this Wind Waker suggestion. I took a look at the page in question, but the text appears to have a correct description of what to do. Perhaps you've been reading it a bit wrong? ~Josh (Talk) 03:10, May 15, 2016 (UTC)

It probably was changed since the last time I checked. There were also lots of comments complaining about it, so I know that I read it correctly. ZD Wiki Editor (talk) 07:19, May 15, 2016 (UTC)

Actually, looking at the revision history of the page it hasn't been edited since Dec 24, 2014, the day after the page was created.
But that's not the point. I think I know where the issue lies here...Phantom Ganon's sword doesn't really have a tip, per say, like most normal swords do. It's just a big block of blade. Glitch

There's a glitch on the tabs. Sometimes when I go to a page with a tab box on it, the tabs appear as normal text and I can't go to the other sections of the tab box. Is it possible to fix that glitch? ZD Wiki Editor (talk) 05:14, May 12, 2016 (UTC)

Please put new talk sections at the bottom of the page. It confuses people and makes it considerably less likely to be noticed or answered. Anyway, this is a known issue however it's not on our end. This is a problem with the web browsers, not our tabs. And therefore, it cannot be "fixed" by us. Sometimes they just don't load a script. It's more common with more complicated scripts. But not necessarily longer or bigger scripts, rather more so ones performing complicated tasks and to even do what they have to do, and a tabs script needs to do some fairly complicated tasks because it's altering how the page itself looks dynamically.
The only way around this is for the functions to be replaced with more efficient PHP coding, but so far none exists for a wiki platform that can do the things we need. Existing tabs interfaces available on MediaWiki (our, and the most commonly used, wiki software) are very, very simple and are not as customizable, fluid, flexible, or anywhere near as useful as the script we use. We would severely limit what we can do with toggling functions (like tabs) if we used a lesser PHP function that didn't include the same capabilities. So we have to use the scripts and just deal with the browser-side issues. Besides, it'd still be an intensive function PHP, and it would vastly increase our server load, which is why most sites still use scripts for so many things like this. Just can't afford that server load. So, again, scripts.
This happens on every website. You probably usually don't notice it most of the time because most scripts that fail do things you probably would never notice. Scripts load on your end, not our server's end. If you load up your browser's console or inspect element form while browsing the net, you'll get notices of failed scripts all over the net on a fairly regular basis. If the script doesn't load for you, try just refreshing the page. If it still isn't up, you can refresh or clear your cache. It also can help by reducing your browser's memory load by closing tabs or suspending them (for instance you can temporarily suspend tabs with the extension called The Great Suspender).
Your computer needs enough resources to properly load a script and run it. The tabs script's issue is the tasks it's trying to do, things like that can have this error but it needs to do those things to accomplish its task so there's little we can change to the script. Problems like this are more common on lower end PCs but you can manage it them fairly easily with the extension I mentioned or similar ones on Firefox But I suggest switching to Chrome if you are using Firefox (or anything else) because it is more stable and has less trouble loading scripts, though this still happens on it. If you're editing on tablet or smartphone, you'd have to do things like closing other open programs you have running and closing other tabs.
Probably a longer explanation than you were looking for but I wanted to fully cover the entire topic so there was no confusion.— Emma (Talk) 07:27, June 15, 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I just started using the talk pages, so I didn't know about the formatting. And you have a point about the errors. Whenever I use Inspect Element, there are always around 10 errors. Also, I'm using Chrome on my computer, but reloading doesn't work. Neither does closing other tabs. I haven't tried clearing my cache yet, and The Great Suspender seems useful. Thanks for the explanation! It may be long, but at least it's not vague. Zelda (talk) 23:57, July 2, 2016 (UTC)
Please don't remove old conversations. I'm not sure you intended to do that. Try using the show preview button whenever you edit a page from now on. Especially talk pages. Then you'll notice if it did something you weren't trying to do. Chrome should be able to handle the site just fine if you take the steps I recommended. They shouldn't be necessary on a typical, modern computer less than a year or two old. But if you have an old dinosaur PC like mine, those steps I outlined would help a lot. It is entirely normal to be a handful of errors on inspect element. Most of the time they are absolutely harmless and will go by unnoticed. Usually, it's something in the background that doesn't make visible changes so it won't affect your experience. And in Chrome, often the script will run anyway despite the error because it has built-in solutions to compensate for that. It doesn't work 100% of the time but it often will work.
Also, on talk pages it's usually preferred that when you respond to something you indent your reply. Do that by typing one colon at the start of your post, like you see on mine here in the edit view, for each time you indent (I indented your reply so you can see what I mean). So two colons to indent two levels, and so on. And leave a reply without any indent at all after... I'd say three replies, usually, have been indented. That keeps things easier to read. Indented replies also let you make clean paragraphs quick and easy like this.— Emma (Talk) 05:59, July 3, 2016 (UTC)

And here I am just saying something else and signing it again, at the same time, to show a base level with no indentation again, so the next reply should be indented. It took me a while to get used to this, but really it becomes second nature pretty fast and it really smooths things up.— Emma (Talk) 05:59, July 3, 2016 (UTC)

Question

Why aren't Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures part of the Zelda Dungeon header with the other games? 𝐙𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐚 (talk) 02:00, August 25, 2016 (UTC)

This is due to space. It squished the header too much so we dropped them from. They are listed under 'Other Games'. We're going to be updating the header shortly to adjust the order and update with a Breath of the Wild image. Mases (talk) 18:18, August 26, 2016 (UTC)
OK. Thanks for replying! Also, the Skyward Sword video walkthrough isn't on the box that appears when hovering the cursor over Skyward Sword. Where can I find it? the preceding unsigned post by ZD Wiki Editor (contribs) at 21:22, September 4, 2016 (UTC)

I’ve been looking for a certain swamp in breath of the wild for a while now. It’s a medium size swamp with bone remains. That’s the only description I can give it, so far I’ve been looking on the east side of the map in Necluda and Lanayru. Cheese915 (talk) 00:12, May 27, 2022 (UTC)

Glitch?

I noticed that the trivia section isn't on the Wiki's main page. After reloading the page multiple times and resetting my computer, the trivia still isn't there. Was it removed or is my computer just glitching? 𝐙𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐚 (talk) 22:09, January 21, 2017 (UTC)

It was removed for now because it broke when I updated the wiki software over the weekend. I'll add it back in when I can find some time to fix it. << Locke(T·C) >> 22:24, January 25, 2017 (UTC)

Potential Addition Idea

The other day, it occurred to me. It would be very complicated, but it would be cool if Zelda Dungeon had more soundtrack available. I completely understand that there could be conflicting legal obstacles, but other websites have made Zelda soundtrack publicly available. It might just start with the old games, but it would be a cool project. TheDoctor8910 (talk) 17:17, October 13, 2018 (UTC)

We do actually have an old section of the site which has soundtracks for the older games, though additions haven't been made in a long time. It's pretty redundant nowadays for sections like this, as soundtracks are highly accessible on YouTube, etc. You can find the section here: https://www.zeldadungeon.net/Soundtracks.php - BlackRayquaza98 (talk) 19:32, October 13, 2018 (UTC)

Contact Page

Okay, I've been looking all over the wiki for the contact page mentioned at the bottom of the FAQ page. Does anyone know where it is? TheDoctor8910 (talk) 18:01, October 19, 2018 (UTC)

Never mind, I just asked Mases about it. TheDoctor8910 (talk) 19:46, October 19, 2018 (UTC)

Cadence of Hyrule

I think it's time we added content for Cadence of Hyrule. I'm going to get started on that soon. Anyone else who wants to help is welcome to, just let me know what you're starting with. --TheDoctor8910 (talk) 13:23, June 8, 2020 (UTC)

Games on this wiki released 'ww'

Hello everyone, games released in regions shows an image where it was released, but on the 'ww' it doesn't explain its world wide, when hovering over the image it doesn't let you know its world wide, maybe we can correct this for the games released 'ww' thankyou everyone! Mario Dungeon?

Can we have a Mario Dungeon or something at like mario.zeldadungeon.net? It's kind of like how FF Kingdom, while focused on Final Fantasy, still has some dedicated sections for like Zelda (listed in the example). The reason I ask is because the Mario stuff on here (remember, Mario and Zelda have crossed paths quite a lot) could evolve into its own wiki by a certain point. I see potential here. Botw map

Please, add a button for the botw map in your site. Zeldaniel (talk) 16:01, October 15, 2022 (UTC)

LuluTheZora (talk) 23:08, November 21, 2022 (UTC)
