"A sword once wielded by a hero in an ancient age. When grasped, a strange sense of nostalgia washes over you. Take it when going alone would otherwise be dangerous."

— In-Game Description

The Sword is an amiibo exclusive weapon found in Breath of the Wild. It can be obtained by scanning a Link (The Legend of Zelda) amiibo, through the use of the amiibo Rune. Scanning the amiibo will drop various items from the sky, along with a treasure chest, which has a chance of containing the Sword, but can also contain different items. The amiibo can only be scanned once per day.

The sword itself is a one-handed weapon, with a base power of 22. It represents the iconic sword used by Link in the first Zelda game, as referenced with the nod in the In-Game Description above.
