Stray Fairies are quest items from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Pieces of the Great Fairies that have been shattered by the Skull Kid, these must be gathered by Link in order for him to restore the Great Fairies.

When Link is stuck in a Deku shape, he must gather the Stray Fairy in Clock Town in order for the Great Fairy of Magic to be restored. After she is restored, Link is given Magic Power, which he needs to shoot bubbles in order to advance. If Link restores her again in his human form, he earns the Great Fairy's Mask. Link can also restore the other four Great Fairies by gathering the Stray Fairies in the four temples of Termina. Each temple contains 15 Stray Fairies to be collected. The Great Fairy's Mask makes this task easier, as it automatically summons any Fairy directly to Link, provided they are not encased in a Shabom-like bubble or locked inside a chest. Additionally, the mask's hair will sparkle and wave if one or more Stray Fairies is within the room, even if they are trapped in a chest or bubble. The rewards for returning all 15 Stray Fairies from a dungeon are, respectively: the Magic Spin Attack, an extended Magic Meter, Enhanced Defense, and the Great Fairy's Sword.
