The Star Fragment is a material found in Breath of the Wild, which may fall from the sky during the night. The falling location is indicated by a glowing beacon which will disappear at 5AM. Additionally, a special sound can be heard near to the position of the fragment. This item can also be found as a loot from Silver and Golden Lynels. A total of 80 fragments are needed for upgrades. The Star Fragment can be used to upgrade the following items:
